Inframammary Breast Augmentation Technique

Breast augmentation through the inframammary technique begins with an incision made to the infra-mammary fold. This technique provides maximal access for precise tissue dissection and placement of the breast implant. It also offers the best exposure of the breast tissue-pectoralis muscle interface and therefore has become the preferred surgical technique among many top plastic surgeons for placement of silicone breast implants.  One drawback to the inframammary technique is the possible production of slightly more thicker and visible scars.
